NOVA Workforce Institute of Northeast Louisiana hosted their 6th Annual Luncheon before a capacity crowd at the Monroe Civic Center in the B.D. Robinson Conference Hall on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The focus of the event was to update and celebrate the success of NOVA.

The event also served as an annual fundraiser. Mr. Kevin Smith, Senior Vice President, for Regions Bank, Commercial Market Executive was the guest speaker. NOVA Graduates Annie Gayden and Ivan Thomas shared their testimonials of how NOVA has impacted their life in securing sustainable employment. Individuals from all over the community and region were in attendance. Honorable Mayor Oliver “Friday” Ellis and Alderman Ben Westerburg on behalf of the Honorable Mayor Staci Mitchell gave comments regarding the Twin Cities and NOVA. Executive Director, Paul West said, “this was a great day for NOVA”. The capacity-filled diverse crowd that was in attendance reflected the support and reasons for NOVA’s continued success. Also, the private-public partnerships are reflected in the contributions.

NOVA has served over 2,000 individuals and placed over 1,149 into the workforce with the majority in living wage jobs. The projected annual wage impact of those securing living wage jobs is over $22 million annually back into the community and region. NOVA Workforce Institute of Northeast Louisiana is dedicated to growing the Regional economy by serving as a Job Intermediary. NOVA identifies and connects the workforce needs of employers with training entities and with the residents of Northeast Louisiana seeking living-wage employment and benefits to create long-term value for employers, participants, and the community.
